Invasive Plant Management in the North Carolina Sandhills

The Kinlaw-Snipes Tract -
Sandhills Area Land Trust

The Kinlaw-Snipes Tract borders the western bank of the Cape Fear River near the edge of Fayetteville.  It's acquisition by the Sandhills Area Land Trust (SALT) is part of a regional effort to conserve land along the river to act as a buffer to development.  The area is typified by mature hardwood trees crisscrossed by ravine-carving streams.  Like much of the land along the Cape Fear, this area was highly infested by large Chinese privet bushes that were shading out the understory.
