Invasive Plant Management in the North Carolina Sandhills

Bowling-Crowley Tract -
The Nature Conservancy

The Bowling-Crowley Tract is a recent acquisition of The Nature Conservancy that is adjacent to the southwest border of Ft. Bragg. This formerly private tract of land was used for timber production and is mostly covered with longleaf and loblolly pines. The site also contains a former homestead site that is highly infested by multiple invasives including kudzu, mimosa, Chinese privet, princess tree and chinaberry. Action was need to keep the infestation from spreading from it's current coverage to the forested areas of the site.
